Sandrine Rousseau attacked on social media by her alleged ecologist nephew

Many Twitter accounts broadcast the photograph of a German climate activist, Raúl Semmler, having stuck to a road during an activism, claiming that he was close to Sandrine Rousseau.

“This is a fake news scale from start to finish for the worst of social media”. On his Twitter accountThe green deputy Sandrine Rousseau denounced this Monday a new attack against her.

Since a few days, Images of a man with his hand trapped in a concrete block are broadcast on social networksto denounce the “absurdity” of climate activists, who multiply shock actions -such as attacks on works of art- to raise awareness about their cause.

“It’s Dimitri Rousseau, Sandrine Rousseau’s nephew. Apparently he is well inspired by stupidity,” he mocks, for example, from a Twitter account.

In fact, many Internet users have claimed that this activist was “Dimitri Rousseau”, the deputy’s nephew. Completely wrong information, as TF1 demonstrates.

A German activist not related to Sandrine Rousseau

The photographs actually show Raúl Semmler, a 38-year-old German environmental activist, also known across the Rhine as an actor, reports Release. The image in question was taken on December 9, during an activist action in Mainz, where activists reached into the street.

That of Raúl Semmler, member of the German collective Letzte generation (Last generation, Editor’s Note), it failed to be detached by the agents and had to be dislodged with a jackhammer, hence the photograph that shows it with a block of asphalt.

The rumor that this activist would be the nephew of Sandrine Rousseau would have started, according to the journalist Matthieu Guyot, from a Twitter account close to the QAnon ideology, an extreme right-wing conspiracy movement. The deputy from Nupes is regularly attacked on social media.
