The president, who likes to wear military uniforms, appeared Monday night in the uniform of Red Sea sailors on the French aircraft carrier. It is not the first time that the Chief of the Armies wears this type of outfit.

A little disguise. During a trip to the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, Emmanuel Macron dressed on Monday night in the blue uniform of army sailors. He is already a classic of the president when he goes to meet the military.

Around a Christmas dinner, the tenant of the Elysée, all dressed in blue because, like the vast majority of the 2,000 men and women on board, he addressed the armed forces before giving his analysis of the World Cup.

In costume in the Terrible

A little earlier, when he arrived at the ship by helicopter and this time in a classic suit and tie, he listed the qualities of the recruits.

“Military experience leads you to develop not only expertise but also behavioral qualities, precious know-how,” said the man who has the status of Chief of the Armed Forces.

This is not the first time he has appeared in military attire. At the start of his first five-year term, the head of state boarded the Le Terrible submarine for the first time, giving orders to the crew, uniform included.

Then he announced that the budget of the Armed Forces would be “the only one increased in 2018” with one objective: to resume a very damaged dialogue with the military.

This time, aboard the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, Emmanuel Macron explained that he would speak at the beginning of 2023 about universal national service. It should be generalized and eventually become mandatory.
