Covid-19 in China: Macron asks the government “to think about measures to protect the French”

The abrupt end this month to China’s “covid zero” policy as the country experiences an explosion of cases has raised concerns in several countries, including France, which is considering “protective measures”.

The announcement of the end of the “zero covid” policy in China from January 8 was greeted with great concern by several countries, including France, as China faces the biggest wave of contamination in the world.

“Emmanuel Macron has already asked the government to think about the appropriate measures to protect the French in this context and to see it both at the national and European level,” the Élysée told BFMTV on Wednesday.

“For the moment, he asked to look at and prepare proposals for the next few days,” says the Presidency of the Republic.

Italy has already announced mandatory testing for all travelers from Chinawhile the United States reflect on measures of the same type.
