The French “ripped off”. Traveling this Saturday to Fismes (Marne), initially to support Anne-Sophie Frigout, RN candidate for partial legislation, Marine Le Pen strongly criticized the pension reform presented by Elisabeth Borne.
“We are going to oppose it with all the weapons that democracy offers us,” said the deputy from Pas-de-Calais during a press conference.
“Obviously, our voters and members can participate in the demonstrations. But we, the elected, our place is in the chamber,” judged Marine Le Pen.
In addition, he promised to vote on “all motions of no confidence” if 49.3 is used. On the issue of blockades, the RN’s elected official will not call “for nothing at all.” “Let them assume their responsibilities,” she told the government.
Marine Le Pen also wanted to recall that this pension reform was foreseeable.
“In 2022 he announced it. To call to vote for him was to call to vote for the pension reform”, said the deputy.
On this subject, Marine Le Pen herself has revised her copy several times. While she offered a full pension for everyone over 60, she suddenly changed her mind last February. In her program, the far-right elected has finally wanted to condition the legal age of departure to the date of entry into working life.
“She has a line that has not been constant on the subject from the beginning (…) You can see that it is a reform with which she is not very comfortable,” Thomas Soulié, deputy head of the political service, pointed out on set. from BFMTV.
“Elected LRs are totally macronized”
In front of the journalists, Marine Le Pen did not hesitate to launch a new shovel at the Republicans, who support this reform project. “The elected positions of LR are totally macronized,” criticized the deputy.
“They are the ones who come to cry crocodile tears for the bakers and consider that this reform must be carried out,” he said.
On the streets of Fismes, Marine Le Pen admitted, however, that she “understands” the mobilization of the French on the streets who want to “defend their rights”.
“The French are disappointed with this reform,” condemned the elected representative of the extreme right.
As a reminder, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne presented on Tuesday the main lines of the pension reform, causing the revolt of the Nupes, the main unions and the majority of the French. Demonstrations are planned for January 19 throughout the country, including Paris, where the procession will start from the Place de la République.
This government project aims to progressively raise the retirement age to 64 years, instead of the current 62, while accelerating the extension of the contribution period.
