“I will continue to support the voice of women.” EELV MP Sandrine Rousseau was questioned Tuesday on BFMTV-RMC about the Julien Bayou affair. The latter had been accused by a former partner, then by several other women in the press, of psychological violence.
The former partner’s accusations had been revealed live on television by Sandrine Rousseau. The latter assures: “If it happens again, I will do it again (…) I do not regret supporting the word of women, ever.”
“We have a collective march to exercise”
The Europa Ecologie-Les Verts cell dedicated to sexist and sexual violence decided last Wednesday to “archive the file” of the deputy Julien Bayou for not having been able to “carry out his investigation.” “The initial hearing” of the former partner, “the starting point of the investigation, could not be carried out” and “no one else entered the cell about Julien Bayou,” EELV justified in a press release.
“I would still like to say to the women who spoke in the press that I am sorry that they did not feel that the conditions were in place within the party to be able to express themselves,” Sandrine Rousseau said Tuesday. “They expressed themselves in the press, they did not manage to have the necessary confidence to express themselves within the party, and that is an issue.”
“No matter what happens, I will support this word of women so that it is respected, heard within the parties, and that they are finally educated to the level of what is at stake”, launches the deputy, adding that ” We have a collective of progression to exercise.”
