Boos, applause, whistles… Adrien Quatennens was booed during his first speech since his return to the National Assembly, causing the session to be suspended.
The deputy from the North, still without registering until mid-April, was going to speak to defend the pension plan for electricians and gas workers when boos and whistles were heard in the chamber, as well as applause from the Nupes benches. However, the vice president of the National Assembly, Sébastien Chenu, retained a point of order, requested by the Renaissance deputy Pierre Cazeneuve.
“What is happening tonight cannot be ignored,” said the Hauts-de-Seine deputy.
“It’s scandalous! It’s a shame!”
“We had points of order for two days, the deputies withdrew from this chamber because they did not win the draw, and when one of their colleagues who was convicted of beating his wife talks about an amendment, one remains stoic,” continued Pierre Cazeneuve.
“Worse than that they applaud it! Where are we? It’s a scandal! It’s a shame!” MP Renacimiento concluded.
Immediately afterwards, the Vice President of the National Assembly suspended the session for two minutes. However, a few minutes later, Adrien Quatennens was able to speak again in the chamber to defend his amendment.
