Le Pen “Voldemort”, Rousseau “mandrake”: Renaissance withdraws a series of tweets mocking deputies

The Renaissance party posted a series of tweets on Friday afternoon associating political figures with characters or creatures from the Harry Potter universe. Messages deleted moments later.

Voldemort, Hermione Granger, Albus Dumbledore… Renaissance attacks, then changes her mind. This Friday afternoon, the Renaissance group posted a series of tweets on their Twitter account in which they associated politicians with the Harry Potter universe, before deleting them.

According to these tweets, Marine Le Pen, chair of the RN group in the Assembly, was notably Voldemort, the “chief of the Death Eaters” (wizard supporters, editor’s note).

“He does everything to make you forget his name and his terrible past”, we could read.

The National Association was not the only party to be the target of these messages. Sandrine Rousseau, the EELV deputy, was presented as a “mandrake”: “She regularly comes out of her greenhouse to destroy men. She breaks the ears of her own camp (and especially those of Yannick Jadot).”

“Sounds good to me,” the Paris parliamentarian responded on Twitter, mentioning that outside of the fantastic world of Harry Potter, “a mandrake is a perennial plant, associated with magical powers.” However, Sandrine Rousseau denounced the “misogynist” nature of the tweet.

In the absence of “validation”, Renaissance withdraws the tweets

The executive duo also had their place in the series of tweets, but this time in a much more charitable way.

Emmanuel Macron became Albus Dumbledore, the “headmaster of Hogwarts” (the wizarding school, editor’s note). “He fights every day to [son école] and you can always count on him in a crisis. Everyone wants to take his place, ”Renaissance described.

For her part, Elisabeth Borne had the honor of partnering with Hermione Granger, the famous magician’s best friend, and “person to count on.”

But, a few minutes after the publication of these tweets, their author deleted them. “It had no place in the official account of the party. It had not been validated. It was removed,” Renaissance reacted to BFMTV.
