Until March 19, the PSD leadership will visit all districts of the country, in an initiative called “Building the Alternative”, which aims to present and discuss the party’s “distinctive proposals”. Housing, demography, education, immigration, decent work and constitutional reform will be the themes discussed in this tour.
According to a statement released this Sunday, “the president of the PSD, Luís Montenegro, the general secretary, Hugo Soares, the vice presidents and the parliamentary leader will embark tomorrow on a trip to all districts of the country that will end on March 19 “.
The initiative will also count on the participation of district leaders, with the “objective of debating with the militants the PSD’s distinctive proposals for Portugal”.
A session is planned for this Monday evening in Tondela (Viseu district) in the presence of general secretary, Hugo Soares. On Wednesday, also at night, in Almeirim (Santarém district) the initiative will be attended by Vice President António Leitão Amaro.
On Friday, in Viana do Castelo, the parliamentary leader, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, will be present at the initiative.
On Saturday afternoon, the President of the PSD, Luís Montenegro, will participate in the initiative that will take place in the parish of Alegrete (municipality and district of Portalegre).
Last November, the PSD leadership carried out an initiative dubbed “Building the Alternative” in which it toured the country to debate with social democratic militants presenting “the shortcomings” of the government’s state budget proposal and its alternative proposals.
Luís Montenegro also spends one week a month in the country’s different districts as part of the “Sentir Portugal” initiative, a commitment he made when he was elected to the 40th Congress.
