Pensions: the left at a meeting in Amiens to “reactivate the mobilization”

Many figures from the left-wing coalition gathered on the Somme as the Senate this week begins its review of the pension reform that Emmanuel Macron’s government wants.

The Insoumis François Ruffin or the socialist leaders Olivier Faure and the environmentalist Marine Tondelier held a meeting in Amiens on Monday to “reactivate the mobilization” and “press for March 7”, the date of the blockade called by the inter-union against the reform of the withdrawals.

In front of the 500 people gathered in the Valentin-Haüy room, Marine Tondelier, EELV’s national secretary, paid tribute to Coluche: “This pension reform is a bad joke. It is the story of a guy, normal, the President of the Republic, who believes that by being elected in the second round against Marine Le Pen he can promote a pension reform “.

He assured, while the examination of the text in the Senate begins this week after a step before the Assembly that caused differences of method within the Nupes: “We are united and united in the street, in the Assembly and in the Senate, and in meetings every afternoon in France”.

“Two More Years of Humiliation”

Olivier Faure for his part lamented the postponement of the retirement age to 64 years “two more years of humiliation” for the most precarious and those most exposed to hardship.

“We are in a moment of emptying, it is the vacations of those who can leave, there is a need to reactivate the mobilization,” explained the first secretary of the PS to the press.

“Let them withdraw the reform”

Because Emmanuel Macron “bets on our resignation”, the spokesman for the communists Ian Brossat abounded. Somme deputy François Ruffin (LFI) indicated that the meeting should “push for March 7”.

“It will be the fifth day that they lose wages, it is not what they want, it is the government that leaves them no other option,” he said.

Then add: “France must stop to stop Macron, because the only solution is for the bosses to call Macron” to tell him to give up on reform.

Benjamín Lucas, deputy for Generations, warned: “We are at the halftime of this pension battle, let’s be a huge, colossal crowd on March 7.”

“You will hear the chorus denouncing the blockade. If they want the trains to work, the schools to open, on the night of March 6, they should withdraw the reform, ”he exclaimed.
