Ministers in weight in the Algarve in the second edition of “Closest Government”

Ministers and secretaries of state will be present in the Algarve today and Thursday at the second edition of “Governo Closer”, a series of 60 initiatives aimed at “strengthening territorial cohesion”.

After the first edition on January 25 and 26 last, in Castelo Branco, the members of the executive and the Prime Minister, António Costa, will be in the district of Faro for two days, where the Council of Ministers will meet on Thursday.

According to the government, proximity contacts will be privileged, listening to local representatives and promoting the economic and social development of the region.

The program includes, in addition to the decentralized meeting of the Council of Ministers, about 60 actions spread over all municipalities in the Algarve.

The executive promises “visits to outstanding projects, actions related to the implementation of the recovery and resilience plan in the district of Faro and working meetings”, thus stating that it is committed to dialogue and “trying to respond to the challenges of the region” . , according to the published program.

António Costa will be present at the laying of the foundation stone for 49 homes in the Bairro de Montenegro, in Faro, followed by the presentation of the preliminary study for the Metrobus, in Olhão, and the inauguration of the new PSP police station in Vila Real de Santo António, and end the day with dinner in the capital of the Algarve.

Among the leaders who will launch the various actions are the Ministers of the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, Health, Manuel Pizarro, Defense, Helena Carreiras, Internal Administration, José Luís Carneiro, Justice, Catarina Sarmento e Castro, Science and Technology, Elvira Fortunato, Housing, Marina Gonçalves, Environment and Climate Action, Duarte Cordeiro, Labor, Ana Mendes Godinho, in addition to many secretaries of state.
