The president of the republic declined to speak today about the layoffs at TAP, sexual abuse in the Portuguese Catholic Church and other current issues, on which he has sent comments for Thursday or Friday.
For Thursday, the day on which Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa marks seven years since taking office as President of the Republic, he has scheduled an interview with RTP and Público.
“Issues like IGF (General Inspectorate of Finance), housing, sexual abuse – tell me more exciting things -, abuse in homes and the like, I speak on Thursday, Friday,” the head of state said in response to journalists. , at the Catholic University of Portugal, in Lisbon.
The journalists urged the president of the republic to comment on the government’s decisions regarding TAP, following the IGF report, but Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa replied that he will talk about it “also later”.
When asked the reason for this calendar, he replied: “Oh, because I have a fixed calendar”.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa spoke to journalists after speaking at a seminar on women in diplomacy and globalization, at the Institute of Political Studies of the Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon.
