As hundreds of thousands of protesters are expected to take to the streets this Saturday for the seventh day of inter-union mobilization against the pension reform, the French now seem convinced that the reform will be voted on in Parliament and then applied.
This is revealed by the latest Elabe survey for BFMTV published this Saturday. According to this survey, 78% of the French believe that the pension reform “will pass”. This trend has risen sharply for a week (+14%) and is at its highest level in a month.
He still opposes the reform
However, the majority of the French are still opposed to this reform. As of March 10, 70% did not support it, a further 3% in a week.
A few days after the start of the renewable strike, the approval of the mobilization by the French remains stable at a high level: 63% of the French support or have sympathy for the mobilization.
This approval is less convincing when it comes to supporting the strike and blockade of certain sectors, including oil refining, transportation, waste collection, etc. A narrow majority (54%) supports them.
Survey conducted online from March 9 to 10, 2023, among a sample of 1,003 people representative of mainland French residents aged 18 and over. The representativeness of the sample was ensured according to the quota method applied to the following variables: sex, age and profession of the interviewee, prior stratification by region and agglomeration category.
