Emmanuel Macron said he was “ready to endorse the unpopularity” linked to the pension reform, this Wednesday during his first public speech since the approval of the text in the National Assembly, an interview with France 2 and TF1 and broadcast on BFMTV.
“I am not seeking to be re-elected, constitutionally I cannot. But between the ballot box and the short term, and the general interest of the country, I choose the general interest of the country. And if it is necessary to endorse unpopularity today, I would endorse it,” said the President of the Republic.
