Pensions: Emmanuel Macron “does not live with regrets” and is “convinced that we will be able to unite”

The head of state was interviewed this Wednesday after the approval of the pension reform by Parliament. If this moment is “difficult”, the head of state is “convinced” that the French will manage to “unite for the future of the country”.

Interrogé sur la très respondée réforme des retraites de son gouvernement, Emmanuel Macron a dit ce mercredi “assumer” ce momento “difficile” et s’est dit “convaincu” qu’on “saura tous s’unir et se réunir pour l’avenir From the country.”

“Reform is very difficult, we ask people to make an effort, it is never popular, (…) I take this moment on because it allows others,” Emmanuel Macron declared, adding that if he had one regret “it would be failing to convince people of the need for this reform”.

“We all have a part to give”

The Head of State continued, however, explaining “not to live on regrets but on will, tenacity and commitment” and wanting to “involve” all French people in the “transformations of the country”.

“We all have a role to play in the future of our country, when we talk about school, industry, health, training, ecology, we all have a role to play,” he assured, adding: “I am sure that we will all be able to unite and unite for the future of our country, I am convinced of that”.

During this interview, Emmanuel Macron also reaffirmed the “necessary” nature of the pension reform and his desire for it to enter into force at the end of the year.
