The TAP Commission of Inquiry will hear 60 personalities and hearings will begin next week, with the IGF, former Administrator Alexandra Reis, the Executive Chair and the Chair of the Board of Directors among the first six.
According to the chairman of the parliamentary committee of inquiry into the political tutelage of the management of TAP, the socialist Jorge Seguro Sanches, the first six hearings will take place in the next three weeks, the order of which has yet to be determined based on contacts with the personalities who will be heard there.
In addition to the Inspector General of Finance, António Ferreira dos Santos, the former Governor Alexandra Reis, the Executive Chairman, Christine Ourmières-Widener, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Manuel Beja, join this first group, which is beginning to be heard from next week the financial administrator, Gonçalo Pires, and the president of the CMVM, Luís Laginha de Sousa.
The 60 requests for hearings from the various parties on the committee were accepted at the meeting, but then the table delegates and coordinators had to decide behind closed doors who would be the first six names to be heard.
Among the parties’ requests, there are several names that are repeated in all requests, including the executive president of TAP, the chairman of the board of directors, Manuel Beja, the former administrator and former governor Alexandra Reis, the former minister Pedro Nuno Santos and currently in charge of Finance, Fernando Medina.
The party that submitted the most requests was the PSD, with 43 personalities, while the shortest lists were those of PS and Chega.
Although the subject of the hearings was first on the agenda, the president chose to begin with a statement on the status of requests for documentation.
According to Seguro Sanches, most of the documents have already been handed over to parliament – about 20 requests are still to be answered – but 100 that have arrived have been classified by the entities.
The chairman of the committee explained that the Assembly of the Republic does not have certified software to guarantee “the levels of security” required for the consultation of documents and it was decided to make available a room – dubbed by PCP deputy Bruno Dias as room of things. secret” — with 10 computers that authorized people can access.
Seguro Sanches said, however, that an attempt will be made from Friday to release all documents in which this is possible, which the president expected will be “an important set of documents”.
During the discussion on this topic, BE MP Mariana Mortágua expressed concerns about ensuring that all parliamentary groups have access to these terminals, as well as the availability of rooms and the respective schedule, fears associated with PSD MP Hugo Ram.
