Convince beyond your field. Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne renewed her desire to “expand the presidential majority”, following the road map established by Emmanuel Macron, in particular after the rejection by 9 votes of a motion of no confidence against the Government in relation to 49.3. She spoke this Saturday at the Horizons congress, Édouard Philippe’s party, in Vincennes, in Val-de-Marne.
“My identity is being surpassed. I will continue to be the guarantor ”, she assures on the podium.
“Exceeding yourself is the only way to respond to what worries French women and men. It is neither right nor left to want your child’s teacher to be replaced when he is absent,” she said.
The head of government advocates overcoming the left-right division, while the Executive has weakened from the 49.3 triggered by the pension reform.
“I can count on the mobilization of Horizontes”
“Extending our majority means concluding project contracts with each other, without preconceived ideas, without necessarily looking in the same direction, and building a reform agenda at the service of the French,” said Elisabeth Borne.
For this, the Prime Minister contacted the majority member party directly. “I know that I can count on the mobilization of Horizontes to achieve it,” he supported.
“I will not stop convincing. (…) I am here to seek agreements and carry out the necessary transformations for our country and for the French people,” he assured.
“Tune Into Anger”
“We know the concerns of our fellow citizens. (…) You have to listen to the doubts, and sometimes the anger that goes far beyond the pension reform,” he said, when clashes broke out during the demonstrations against the pension reform in recent days .
“This is a request for justice. It is a matter of taking into account the evolution of our relationship with work and offering real perspectives to all”, the President of the Government also estimated.
Emmanuel Macron said he hoped that Elisabeth Borne could “build a government program” and “expand” the majority “in the coming weeks”, after the rejection of the executive’s motion of no confidence.
