The second agricultural union, the majority in this southwestern department known for its fruits and vegetables, warned her this Monday in a press release that “she is not welcome”, after having “sowed violence, hatred and desolation” by participating in the demonstration banned against “mega-basins” on Saturday in Sainte-Soline (Deux-Sèvres). Marine Tondelier then denounced “threats” and said that we could not “prove people who have these methods right.”
The environmentalist targeted by threats and insults
On Tuesday morning, between 150 and 200 of these activists were waiting for the environmental leader at the Marmande station, according to police and trade union sources. Marine Tondelier finally arrived in the early afternoon after canceling a first visit on the subject of health and joined the demonstration against the pension reform, from where she responded to the president of the Chamber of Agriculture of Lot-et- Gatronne who also did not want the elected official to come, via a message posted On twitter.
Despite the protection of gendarmes and plainclothes police, she was only able to advance a few tens of meters before being blocked by activists from the agricultural union who threatened to throw liquid manure at her. She tried in vain to talk to some of them and turned away after being insulted.
“My heart aches because I am outspoken, a Democrat, a Republican. I have always been in favor of dialogue, ”she told reporters.
“It doesn’t make sense. They have much more prejudices about us than we do about them (…) They make the wrong enemies, they don’t want to argue, they don’t want to hear, they are at a dead end,” he added, now following his trip to the General States of Ecology launched by the party, although the meeting places have been changed.”I am not going to let my career dictate me, nor my meetings be dictated by people who do not want to argue and who still seem extremists to me,” he continued.
