Enough points to “emotional imbalance” for Costa

Chega’s president pointed out “emotional imbalance” and “political fallout” to the prime minister, António Costa, on Tuesday and believed that the “environment of confrontation” with the president of the republic does not allow the government to continue in office .

“What we saw today was a certain emotional imbalance, political dejection and a desire for confrontation that makes me ask again if he is okay,” said the Chega leader.

André Ventura considered that “the environment of confrontation and conflict that has arisen today between the President of the Republic, between the country, the Prime Minister and the Government, leaves the government of António Costa without major conditions of continuity in terms of the exercise of his mandate”.

“There must be a dissolution of the Assembly of the Republic and Chega is ready to be an alternative and run the country,” he defended.

Chega’s president also warned that the “climate of tension and conflict will shape political news in the coming days and weeks”.

André Ventura spoke to journalists in the Assembly of the Republic, after the resignation of the Minister of Infrastructure, João Galamba, which was not accepted by the Prime Minister, and António Costa’s statement to the country became known.
