Julien Bayou’s lawyer affirms that “he never used psychological violence”

During a press conference this Monday, Marie Dosé denounced the “numerous violations of privacy” of the deputy in recent days. A situation that “forced him to publicly clarify” this Monday certain facts about his ex-girlfriend.

A few hours after the resignation of Julien Bayou from the national secretariat of Europa Ecologie-Les Verts and from the vice-presidency of the environmental group in the National Assembly, his lawyer denied any act of “psychological violence” reproached against the deputy by his former partner.

Julien Bayou “has never exercised the least psychological violence against his colleagues,” Marie Dosé insisted during a press conference.

Since “for weeks, and even more so for a few days, the attacks on his private life have multiplied, Julien Bayou is forced to publicly clarify certain facts,” explained the lawyer.

An email on the origin of the seizure of the EELV cell

The deputy separated from his partner in November 2021, a “very difficult decision”, even according to his lawyer. “He was aware of the psychological fragility of her partner, which Sandrine Rousseau decided to make public.”

In the months after the breakup, the behavior of his former partner would have been “fluctuating”, with “episodes of tension, pressure, blackmail and threats, and calmer moments”.

Marie Dosé then clarified the events of June 30. That day, Julien Bayou’s ex-girlfriend sent him a message from her offering to keep the house they had bought together, and where she still lives.

“Two hours later, he sent Julien Bayou’s family and friends, Sandrine Rousseau and the EELV reporting unit an email calling his former partner a ‘cowardly manipulator’ and evoking his ‘intent to die to protect others’. “says the lawyer.

Another email, “threatening and hateful”

Later, “around 10 p.m.,” she “warned Julien Bayou that he had taken medication, immediately alerted the fire department (…) and was quickly treated and hospitalized.”

In detail, it was at 10:19 p.m. that the deputy called the firefighters, and at 10:25 p.m. the Unit for the Investigation of Sexual and Gender Violence of the EELV notified her that she had self-apprehended after the email received a few minutes before . without giving further details about the content of the charges.

Four days later, a new “hateful and threatening” email was sent to Julien Bayou. “Don’t worry, I’m going to come back and strong,” wrote his former partner, quoted by Marie Dosé. She then assured him of his desire to put him “out of harm’s way” and predicted “a painful fall”.

If the EELV cell had told Julien Bayou to call him later, they never contacted him again, laments Marie Dosé.
