Montenegro criticizes Costa’s “government confusion” and “provocative style”

Luís Montenegro this Thursday criticized António Costa for publishing the answers to the PSD’s 15-question application in the media before these answers were delivered to the Assembly of the Republic.

“I don’t understand why the prime minister still hasn’t informed parliament at this point, when the whole press already has the answers,” complained the leader of the Social Democrats.

“I deplore this course of action, which is accompanied by a provocative style that only serves to increase the degradation of institutions,” he added.

Montenegro says that “if the answers are the ones circulating in the media, there is confusion in the government of Portugal”.

Aligned with Montenegro, the PSD parliamentary leader said on Thursday that the prime minister’s answers about the SIS have not yet been introduced in the Assembly of the Republic, accusing António Costa of “disrespecting parliament” and “trampling on the settings”.

“It is disrespectful to the Assembly of the Republic that the Prime Minister’s possible answers to the questions asked by the PSD yesterday [quarta-feira] asked about the performance of the SIS in the case of the laptop of the Secretary of State for Infrastructure which has not yet entered parliament but has been in the media since 6.30 amcriticized Joaquim Miranda Sarmento in statements to journalists at the end of the parliamentary group meeting.

The Social Democratic parliamentary leader declined to comment on the content of the answers released by Lusa today, “while they are not official”.

“But if it turns out that those answers that come in the media are the answers that the prime minister will give in this parliament, then that is a huge disrespect for parliament and a serious failure in the functioning of institutions.”he accused.

When asked whether the PSD had not received the answers directly from António Costa, Miranda Sarmento replied in the negative.

“We do not receive directly, nor would that be the channel, the channel is through the Assembly of the Republic and the services of the Assembly of the Republic have not received it yet.”he repeated.

The Prime Minister’s answers, released by Lusa, have already been published on the government’s internet portal, but on the parliament’s website – in the tab dedicated to “questions and requests” – neither the PSD’s question, announced on Wednesday, nor the corresponding answer.
