Luís Castro is no longer the coach of Botafogo, the Brazilian soccer club announced this Friday, detailing that the Portuguese coach announced that he had accepted the proposal of another team, without specifying which one.
“Botafogo was informed this Friday by coach Luis Castro about his decision to accept a proposal from a foreign club, which puts an end to his role in the technical command of the team. The assistants Vitor Severino and João Brandão also leave the Club; the physical trainer Roberto de Oliveira; goalkeeper coach [guarda-redes] Daniel Correa; and performance analyst Nuno Baptista”, reads the official website of Brazilians on the Internet.
Luís Castro, 61, has been signed at Al Nassr by the Portuguese international striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who in January headed for Saudi Arabia to be the main ‘figure’ of the Riyadh team, scoring 14 goals in 19 games . still insufficient to prevent the team from finishing the championship in second place, behind champion Al Ittihad, led by Nuno Espírito Santo.

In Portugal, having played for Águeda, Mealhada, Estarreja, Sanjoanense and Penafiel, the former defender spent most of his career at FC Porto, later going on to manage Rio Ave, Desportivo de Chaves and Vitória de Guimaraes.
