The Portuguese tennis player Francisco Cabral, along with the Brazilian Rafael Matos, qualified this Tuesday for the second round of the couples tournament in Bastad, Sweden.
Cabral, 47th in the world ranking of couples, and Matos, 49th, defeated the Romanian Víctor Vlad Cornea, 84th, and the Spanish Sergio Martos Gornes, 103rd, 6-2, 6-4, in one hour and 11 minutes.
In the next round, Francisco Cabral and Rafael Matos will face the first seed, made up of Frenchman Fabrice Martin and German Andreas Mies.
This is the first tournament for the Portuguese-Brazilian duo since they were eliminated in the second round of Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of the season.
