Portugal’s roller hockey team drew 3-3 against two-time champions Spain today in a second round match of Group A of the European Championship, taking place in Sant Sadurni d’Anoia, Catalonia.
Portugal took the lead twice, with goals from João Rodrigues (03 minutes) and Rafa (35 minutes), but let Martí Casas (24), Pau Vargalló (37) and Benfica’s Nil Roca (40) lead the Spaniards to make. Gonçalo Alves equalized in the last minute (50).
The national team, which had beaten Italy (7-4) on Monday, leads Group A by four points, two more than Spain, second, while France is third with one, and the Italians without points on Wednesday, and these two teams are still facing each other today, as of 8:00 PM (Lisbon time).
In the third and final round of the group, Portugal will meet France on Wednesday at 5.30 pm.
The European roller hockey championship runs until Saturday in Sant Sadurni d’Anoia, Catalonia.
