The leader Palmeiras, led by the Portuguese Abel Ferreira, won on Monday at Botafogo, led by Luís Castro, by 3-1, in a match of the 29th day of the Brazilian soccer championship.
In a goal scored by former FC Porto players, Tiquinho Soares put Botafogo ahead, in the 20th minute, after an assist from Saravia.
However, in just over a quarter of an hour, Palmeiras turned the score around, with goals from Gustavo Scarpa (26), from the penalty spot, and Mayke (36).
In the second half, Dudu made the final result, at 60 minutes, before the ‘verdão’ was reduced to 10 players, due to the expulsion of Zé Rafael, at 69.
With this victory, Palmeiras remains comfortable in the lead, with 63 points, 10 more than Internacional, in second place, while Botafogo, which interrupted a streak of four games without losing, is 10th, with 37.
