The Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation announced on Tuesday the start of a disciplinary file against the Greek goalkeeper of Benfica Odysseas Vlachodimos.
What it is about is the “breach of other duties and possible damage to the honor and reputation of the bodies of the sports structure and its members”, reads the issued statement federation discipline.
The case dates back to an investigation that began in June this year, after statements by the Greek captured and released by Benfica in a video published after the Reds won 0-1 on the first day of the championship.
“These guys are a shitty team. A shitty team,” Vlachodimos said, prompting the start of an investigation to “determine the disciplinary relevance of factuality from media reports on player statements.”
The process is now in the hands of the League’s committee of instructors.
