Mamadou Loum on loan from FC Porto to Al-Raed

Senegalese footballer Mamadou Loum will reinforce Al-Raed on loan from FC Porto, the Saudi Arabian top-flight club announced Thursday, with a purchase option clause at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old midfielder faces his third loan in as many seasons, after having represented the Spanish Alavés (2021/22) and Reading (2022/23), recently relegated to the English third division, having played 32 games and scored a goal.

National champion and winner of the Portuguese Cup in 2019/20, Mamadou Loum initially joined FC Porto on loan from Sporting de Braga, whose main team he never represented, in mid-2018/19, following a transfer to Moreirense.

The Senegalese international, who has three caps and won the African Cup of Nations in 2022, joined the ‘dragons’ at a later stage until June 2025, scoring one goal in 23 caps for the team led by Sérgio Conceição.

Mamadou Loum trained with the B team since the start of the preseason and joins Wilson Manafá, Rodrigo Conceição, Nanu, Tomás Esteves, Diogo Leite, João Marcelo, Matheus Uribe and Fernando Andrade among the departures recorded by FC Porto.
