The ban on the Estádio do Bessa pitch, in Porto, was announced this Friday by the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP), with only three days to go until Boavista hosts Benfica, on the opening day of the I Liga.
“The Technical Inspection Commission of the LPFP determined the lifting of the ban on the Bessa Stadium. This decision was made after a new inspection of the grass recovery work, which turned out to be effective in terms of increasing its density, without compromising the normal development of the duel. and the physical integrity of the players”, reports the organization, in a note published on its official website.
On July 24, the LPFP had prohibited, with immediate and preventive effects, the use of the Estádio do Bessa pitch, which the day before received a rating of 1.35 (from 0 to 5) when Boavista lost to União from Leiria, in the first phase of the League Cup.
The measure was in force for almost three weeks, but it was lifted in time for Boavista to welcome national champion Benfica, scheduled for Monday, starting at 8:45 p.m., in the closing match of the first round of the 2023 edition/ 24 of the ILiga.
