Erik ten Hag admits Ronaldo’s frustration, but denies the Portuguese’s departure

“He wants to play and he gets annoyed when he doesn’t play. But that doesn’t mean he wants to leave the club or that he’s asked to leave. I don’t think he’s unhappy. In training he’s happy and he’s having fun with the rest of the team.’, said Erik ten Hag at the press conference prior to the match against Omonia, in the Europa League, which is scheduled for Thursday.

So far, Ronaldo, 37, has been used in eight games, three in the starting line-up (two in the Europa League and just one in the Premier League) and has scored just one goal, exactly in the second European league.

Last weekend, the international and ‘captain’ of the Portuguese team was even an unused substitute in the duel with Manchester City, which ended with a 6-3 defeat against the ‘red devils’, with the Dutch coach not using the striker with “respect for his great career”.
