Benfica survives hectic final in Barcelos

Benfica won 3-2 against Gil Vicente, in the third round of the 1st Portuguese football league, and thus reached, albeit provisionally, the group at the top of the championship.

In Barcelos, the ‘incarnados’ scored by the Argentinian Di Maria (19 minutes), from the penalty spot, by Rafa (53) and by the Croat Musa (90+4), while Gil Vicente’s goals were scored by the Frenchman Tidjany Touré (74) and the Swiss Maxime Dominguez (90+8).

Benfica, who recorded their second successive championship victory, after defeat at Bessa, took six points to join the championship leading group, despite Boavista, Sporting, FC Porto and Vitória de Guimarães having won all but one of their games had, while Gil Vicente recorded the second loss in a row and is eighth with three.
