The Spanish soccer player Juan Bernat will reinforce Benfica until the end of the season, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, the two clubs announced this Friday on their official websites.
The 30-year-old left-back arrives at the ‘incarnated’ after five seasons at PSG, starting in 2018/19, in which he won four championships, a French Cup, a League Cup and a Super Cup.
Trained in Valencia, where he made his first-team debut in 2011/12, Bernat joined Bayern Munich in 2014/15, having won four league titles, two German Cups and two German Super Cups with the Bavarians.
Bernat, European under-19 champion in 2012, was capped 11 times with Spain, a country he has not represented since 2019.
In the Lisbon emblem, Bernat will meet the Argentine Ángel Di María, with whom he crossed paths at PSG for four seasons, between 2018/19 and 2021/22.
Last season, the Spanish international faced Benfica twice, both in the Champions League group stage, and in the match against Luz (1-1) he entered the second half and in the one in Paris ( 1-1) He started for the Parisians.
