This Saturday Portugal will debut in the Rugby World Cup. The Portuguese team plays against Wales, in Nice, returning sixteen years later to a World Cup. TO TSF interviewed the president of the Portuguese federation of this sport, Carlos Amado da Silva, who promises that the team will play attractive rugby.
“We have played a very nice rugby, I don’t know if it is as practical as we would like, but the quality of our game is very good and that is recognized by everyone. Now, the lack of competitive experience at international level could be an adverse factor “, shoots Carlos Amado da Silva.

The president of the Portuguese Rugby Federation has no doubt that this team is better prepared than the one in 2007, because “they have a different type of preparation and quality of training. This is part of the evolution. This team has other obligations that had to be in 2007. It has better working conditions and has players with more experience,” explains the director.
Carlos Amado da Silva states that “expectations are high”, but admits that Portugal’s rival “are super teams”, highlighting that “Portugal is the only team that is not professional.”
The Portuguese team will compete in the Rugby World Cup for the second time in history. The first match is this Saturday against Wales, at 4:45 p.m.
