The footballers’ decision is known hours before the new Spain coach, Montse Tomé, announces the names of those called up for the Nations League matches, against Sweden and Switzerland, on September 22 and 26, respectively.

Jeni Hermoso said that the kiss was not consensual, contrary to what Rubiales claims.
Rubiales’ behavior earned him the opening of a disciplinary file by the Sports Administrative Court of Spain and FIFA, which suspended him from his position for 90 days.
The player, in turn, filed a complaint in court for sexual assault by Rubiales, who initially refused to resign, but ended up resigning from his position.
Rubiales appears today before a judge in Madrid.
In the days after the World Cup final, more than 80 Spanish soccer players issued a statement of solidarity with Jenni Hermoso and announced that they would refuse to play for the Spanish team if there were no changes in the federation.
In addition to Rubiales’ departure, the federation fired the women’s team coach, Jorge Vilda, and replaced him with Montsé Tomé, who was the coach’s ‘number two’.
