The Dutch cyclist Wout Poels (Bahrain-Victorious) won this Saturday the twentieth and penultimate stage of the Vuelta a España, in which the North American Sepp Kuss (Jumbo-Visma) kept the distance with his closest pursuers in the general classification.

Poels reached the end of the 207.8 kilometers between Manzanares El Real and Guadarrama in 04:49.29 hours, surpassing the Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quickstep), second, while the Spanish Pelayo Sánchez (Burgos) was third.

The Portuguese Rui Costa (Intermarché-Circus-Wanty), winner of the 15th stage, was sixth in the race, 26 seconds behind the Dutchman.

The general classification continues to be led by Sepp Kuss, who today was 36th, 10.37 minutes behind Wout Poels, and maintained an advantage of 17 seconds over the Dane Jonas Vingegaard and 01.08 minutes over the Slovenian Primoz Roglic, his teammates in the Jumbo-Visma.

The 21st and final stage of the Vuelta a España will connect the Zarzuela Hippodrome with the Paisaje de la Luz, in Madrid, over 101.5 kilometers on Sunday.
