Portuguese footballer Nuno Santos, who scored for Sporting against Boavista last season, is one of the eleven nominees for the FIFA Puskas Award, the organization announced on Friday.
In the 24th round of the 2022/23 I Liga, in Alvalade, the Lions left winger opened the scoring against Boavista (3-0) with a stunning shot from inside the area, with the ball still hitting the post before entering .
“The ball reached Nuno Santos close to the penalty spot, while four opposing defenders blocked the way to the goal. Álvaro Barreal (Argentina), Linda Caicedo (Ecuador), Julio Enciso (Paraguay), Seong-jin Kang (South Korea), Sam Kerr (Australia), Brian Lozano (Uruguay), Guilherme Madruga (Brazil), Ivan Morante (Spain) ) Askhat Tagybergen (Kazakhstan) and Beatriz Zaneratto (Brazil) are the other nominees for the Puskas Prize, which marks the best goal each year.
