The coach of Desportivo de Chaves, Moreno, said this Saturday that although he expects difficulties against Estrela da Amadora, for the sixth round of the I Portuguese Football League, the visitors will also find problems and confident players.
After five consecutive defeats in the highest category of Portuguese football, Deportivo de Chaves, 18th and last classified, still without points, receives Estrela da Amadora, 15th, equal with Vizela and Moreirense, with four points, with Moreno replacing José Gomes.
The Guimarães coach expects and promises difficulties for this confrontation, showing that he is determined to change the course of the Trás-os-Montes team.
“I expect difficulties, all the games are very competitive, decided in detail. We understand the structure with which Estrela [da Amadora] will perform tomorrow [domingo]”It is a team that is already very solid, with the coach from two seasons ago,” he highlighted in the pre-match conference.
Without wanting to make comparisons with the work carried out by José Gomes, Moreno maintained that Desportivo de Chaves cannot be what it has been in the last five days.
“The ease with which our rivals give themselves an advantage, the ease with which we lose the game, in Faro, now in Bessa, that is not possible. All the games are very difficult, but we have to believe a lot in ourselves, “We have to be organized, be focused, pay attention to all the details of the game, because that’s what our championship is about,” he explained.
Without promises about a possible victory, Moreno assured that just as Desportivo de Chaves expects difficulties, Estrela da Amadora will also have them.
Regarding tactical changes, the coach stated that he will have to be intelligent and, above all, “understand the squad he has at his disposal”, given that the injured Abass, Cafú Phete and Lameiras are left without options.
“The important thing is that the athletes go out onto the field with confidence, that they do not suspect anything. If they then play 3-4-3, 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, we’ll see,” he reiterated.
To regain confidence, Moreno hopes to have the support of the Trás-os-Montes fans, whom he called for Sunday’s match.
“I think we have the conditions to get out of this situation. If it’s going to be easy, it won’t be. The coach alone can’t do anything, we really need the strength of Trás-os-Montes, the people of Trás-os-Montes, your understanding that the environment here is comfortable for us and uncomfortable for the opponent,” he appealed.
