Vlachodimos with case closed due to amnesty law

Goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos saw his case closed due to the amnesty law that came into effect after Pope Francis came to Portugal, the Disciplinary Board of the Portuguese Football Association announced on Tuesday.

“Determine the archiving of the files for the extinguishment of disciplinary responsibility in relation to the accused Odysseas Vlachodimos, in accordance with the combined provisions of Articles 21, al. g), and 25, No. 1, both of the RDLPFP, and Articles 2nd and 6th of Law No. 38-A/2023, of August 2″can be read in the published penalty card.

However, national champion Benfica must pay a fine of 16,320 euros for “damaging the honor and reputation of the bodies of the sporting structure and its members”.

Sporty goalkeeper António Ádan also saw CD cancel his registration. This concerned his exclusion from the home win on May 13 against Marítimo (2-1), after receiving two yellow cards, in a match of the 32nd round of the 1st Portuguese Football League 2022/23, after being prevented from playing in the next round, in the match against Benfica.

The decision comes after the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled in favor of the goalkeeper, who had already served his sentence.
