The Fijian star is skipping his son’s funeral so he can play against Portugal

Josua Tuisova, one of Fiji’s best rugby players who lost his seven-year-old son to a long-term illness a few days ago, decided to skip the funeral and stay focused on his country’s team in France and concentrate on the match against Portugal on Sunday. The funeral ceremony was planned for this Tuesday.

Tuisova learned of the death of her son (Tito Micgabraph Donzel Ratulevu) hours before the match with Georgia (he played 79 minutes) at the weekend, which Fiji won 17-12. The team can now qualify for the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup, but must win or draw with Portugal in the match scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m.

The Fijian player, who won Olympic gold at Rio 2016, has two tries in the three matches he has competed in.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved Tito Micgabraph Donzel Ratulevu. He is the son of Josua Tuisova and Katarina Ladoge Ramoce. He is affectionately known as Tito and passed away peacefully after a long battle with a debilitating illness “, he says. the family wrote in a statement to the press.
