Portuguese coach Bruno Lage is no longer the coach of Botafogo. After the draw against Goiás and pressure from the club’s players, the Portuguese coach was fired.
The decision was announced by the club in the early hours of Wednesday and there are several factors that justify the departure, from player complaints to Bruno Lage’s decision to leave Tiquinho Soares out of the starting eleven. Furthermore, Botafogo has now gone five games without winning.
In total, Lage led Botafogo in 15 games, with four wins, seven draws and four losses. For now, Lúcio Flávio takes command of the team.
Bruno Lage had a contract with Botafogo until December and will receive 740 thousand euros.
