Belgian international Eden Hazard announced the end of his career on Tuesday at the age of 32, with the player justifying that the time has come to listen and leave football.
“We must listen to each other and stop at the right time. After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer. I have been able to fulfill my dreams, play and have fun on different fields,” wrote the Belgian on social network Instagram.

Eden Hazard started his career with the children of AFC Tubize, in Belgium, from where he left at the age of 16 to Lille, his first club as a senior, and where he spent five seasons.
Hazard then shone at Chelsea between 2012 and 2019, where he won two English leagues, before leaving for Real Madrid, a club where he was until last season, without the same impact as in England, but winning the Champions League. .
“I would like to thank the clubs for which I played: Lille, Chelsea and Real Madrid, and the Belgian Federation for my selection,” added the footballer, without forgetting his family and fans, for the support he received.
Hazard also said that now is the time to dedicate himself to those closest to him and gain new experiences.
