Sporting was fined more than 12 thousand euros by UEFA, due to the use of pyrotechnic devices by its fans in Austria, in the duel with Sturm Graz, in the Europa League.
A source from the Lisbon club confirmed today to Lusa that the ‘lions’ will have to pay a fine of 12,750 euros, but, for now, they will be able to continue having fans when they travel abroad, particularly in Europa League matches, in which they still They will have to play in Italy, against Atalanta, and in Poland, against Rakow.
In Graz, Sporting beat Sturm, 2-1, on the first day of Group B, on September 21, with the ‘leonine’ fans using pyrotechnic devices during their presence in the stadium, a situation completely prohibited by UEFA.
Last season, for the same reason, the Alvalade club suffered a large fine of around 50 thousand euros for the behavior of the fans in Denmark, at the Midtjylland stadium.
The next trip of Rúben Amorim’s team in the Europa League is scheduled for October 26, in Rakow.
