Portugal finished with 14 medals, three of them gold, at the European Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships, which ended this Sunday in Varna, Bulgaria.
On the last day of competition, the Portuguese gymnasts won six medals, two of them gold, won by Mónica Lima and Maria Marvão, who finished first in the final of the dynamic exercise, and by the men’s group formed by João Teles and Gonçalo Sampaio . , Nuno Santos and Vicente Colaço, also in the dynamics exercise.
The female group formed by Eduarda Portela, Carolina Marques and Joana Pinto won the silver medal in the balance final, while the male pair formed by Lopes and Gonçalo Parreira won the bronze in the dynamic final.
In the junior category, the men’s group formed by Afonso Maia, Tiago Coelho, Jorge Silva and Pedro Ramalho finished the dynamic final in second place, and the mixed couple formed by André Fiuza and Madalena Tomás won bronze in the Balance final.
On Saturday, a senior men’s group consisting of João Teles, Gonçalo Sampaio, Nuno Santos and Vicente Colaço won gold in the all-around category, an unprecedented feat in Portuguese acrobatic gymnastics.
