Sporting visits Polish Rakow this Thursday, on the third day of Group D of the Europa Football League, seeking to get back on the path to victory in the European competition, after the defeat against Atalanta.
The lions, the only Portuguese representatives in the second UEFA club competition, enter the third round in second position in the group, with three points, tied with Sturm Graz, third, and three behind the Italians, who lead, while that the Poles are in the lead. Last position, no points.
After a successful entry into the group, in Austria (2-1), Sporting was defeated at home by Atalanta (2-1), which is, so far, the only defeat recorded by Rúben Amorim’s team , leader of the I League. Portuguese team, in 11 official matches this season.
In Poland, against the fifth-ranked team in that country’s championship, the green and white team will have the opportunity to move away from Sturm Graz and consolidate second place, or even equal or get closer to the Bergamo team, taking into account that the transalpine team will play in Graz.
