Spanish rider Jorge Martin (Ducati) today won the MotoGP Thai Grand Prix, the 17th race of the season, in which Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) had to withdraw due to technical problems.
The Portuguese driver, who started from 20th on the grid, recovered two positions on the first lap and rose to 17th on the second lap.
However, on the seventh lap, Oliveira started to lose time and dropped to 21st and last place, where he received the black flag that forced the riders to abandon the race due to technical problems with his bike, which did not meet the regulations.
In the sprint race of this Thai GP, which the Portuguese won last year, Oliveira was hit by two opponents, causing one of the left wings of his Aprilia to break.
Martin completed the 26 laps in 39.40.045 minutes, beating Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) by 0.253 seconds, while South African Brad Binder (KTM) was relegated from second to third place as he crashed on the last lap had exceeded the track limits.
With these results, Bagnaia has 389 points, 13 more than Martin, with three races to go until the end of the championship.
