Daniel Ramos leaves Arouca and makes the sixth coaching change in the League

This Wednesday, Daniel Ramos became the sixth coach to leave the technical command of a team in the 2023/24 edition of the Portuguese First Football League, after his departure from Arouca was announced.

Ramos leaves the club in 18th and last place in the I Liga, with just six points, in addition to already being eliminated from the Europa Conference League, remaining in the Portuguese Cup. On Sunday they were defeated in their home match against Sporting de Braga (1-0).

The 52-year-old coach left his position one day after the dismissal of his predecessor, Armando Evangelista, from the technical command of Goiás, and one day after the previous whip, Filipe Martins, fired from Casa Pia.

After the eleventh matchday, the ‘geese’, currently in 15th place in the I Liga, announced the departure of the 45-year-old coach, at the request of Filipe Martins himself, after six matchdays without a win.

Previously, Vitória de Guimarães had already had two coach departures, with the Brazilian Paulo Turra leaving after the seventh matchday, four after taking charge of the team, being replaced by Álvaro Pacheco.

The Guimarães started the season with Moreno, who left the team after the first round and on his own initiative, and in the second round they already had the interim João Aroso until the arrival of Paulo Turra, a Brazilian coach who was a former Minho player.

At the head of Vitória, Paulo Turra only achieved two victories in six games, in a short campaign in which they were also eliminated from the League Cup by the secondary Tondela.

Before, still with Moreno, the Minho team was also unable to participate in the Europa Conference League, after being eliminated in the second qualifying round by the Slovenian team NK Celje.

At the start of the 2023/24 championship, Vitória de Guimarães has been ‘shaking’ the bench with coaching changes, in a shortlist that also includes Desportivo de Chaves and Estoril Praia, already with new coaches.

The locals saw José Gomes leave on the fifth day, after five defeats in the I Liga and elimination in the first round of the League Cup, with the coach replaced by the former Vimaranense Moreno.

Estoril Praia was left without Álvaro Pacheco on matchday six, replacing him with Vasco Seabra.

Coach changes in the 2023/24 edition of the championship:

1st round – Vitória SC: Moreno – João Aroso (interim)

2nd – Vitória SC: João Aroso – Paulo Turra

5th – GD Chaves: José Gomes – Moreno

6th – Estoril Praia: Álvaro Pacheco – Vasco Seabra
