Estrela da Amadora and Estoril Praia return to triumphs. Boavista worsens the crisis

Estrela da Amadora and Estoril Praia returned today to their triumphs in the 1st Portuguese Football League, in a 13th round match that extended Boavista’s results crisis. In Reboleira, the tricolors aggravated Boavista’s bad moment – five consecutive defeats in a series of eight games without knowing the taste of victory in the championship – and defeated the checkers 3-1.

Estrela opened the lead through Léo Jabá in the 52nd minute and they still had a momentary response from Petit’s team, through Martim Tavares (75′), but the reaction of the team led by Sérgio Vieira was worth the victory, with goals from Abascal (78′).’, in own goal, and from Kikas (84′).

Estrela, who had not won in three rounds, rose to ninth place with 15 points, equal to Boavista, who is now 10th.

Estoril Praia once again showed excellent dynamics and had no trouble adding another home win by beating Desportivo de Chaves 4-0 at home.

Portuguese Under-21 international Rodrigo Gomes scored twice, with goals in the sixth and 61st minutes, Venezuelan Alejandro Marqués increased the difference in the 70′, and Heriberto recorded the final result, in the 90’+2′.

The team led by Vasco Seabra currently occupies 12th place with 13 points, three more than the Flavienses, who have dropped to 18th and last place in the League.

In Arouca, in Sunday’s other hard-fought match, Rio Ave went into half-time with a 2-0 lead, but the home side erased the deficit with two goals in the second half. The goals of Aderllan Santos, in the fifth minute, and Boateng (29′) were answered by Cristo González, in the 50′, and Jason, in the 62′.

Arouca is in 16th place with 10 points, while the Vila do Conde team, which drew for the third time in a row, is 15th with 11 points.

The 13th round of the I Liga ends on Monday with the meeting between Gil Vicente (14th) and Moreirense (sixth). The championship is led by Sporting, who are equal in points (31 points) with FC Porto, which they host in the next round, in which Benfica, third, with 30, plays at Sporting de Braga, fourth, with 29.
