Boavista was eliminated this Sunday from the Portuguese Football Cup, after losing 1-0 to Machico, in the Portuguese Championship, in a third-round match.
The Madeira team, ranked ninth in Series B of the fourth category, beat the ‘chess players’, fifth in the I League, with a goal by Roberto Gouveia, in the 45th minute.
Machico ensured his presence on matchday four with his second win of the season, after defeating Alverca in League 3 on penalties, while Boavista added the third game without winning in all competitions.
