Spanish driver in serious condition after suffering a fall in the second stage of the Dakar

The Spanish motorcyclist Carlos Falcón (KTM) stayed this Sunday in “serious condition” after a fall suffered during the course of Second stage of the 46th edition of the Dakar off-road rallybetween Al-Henakiyah and Al-Duwadimi, in Saudi Arabia, the organization indicated.

“At kilometer 448 of the day’s special, at 3:52 p.m., the Spanish motorcyclist Carles Falcón was the victim of a fall. Immediately notified by another pilot who was following him, the organization sent a helicopter that transported the pilot, in serious condition, to Al-Duwadimi hospital,” the Amaury Sports Organization (ASO) reported in a statement.

ASO promises More information on the pilot’s status in the next few hours.. Carles Falcón had been the 76th classified in the first stage of the raceplayed on Saturday.

The Portuguese Joaquim Rodrigues Jr. (Hero), who suffered an accident on Saturday, also confirmed, in a publication on social networks, that he fractured two fingers on his left hand and that he was unconscious after the fall, suffered at kilometer 82 of the first stage of the race.

“I know I was accompanied by other pilots, but I only remember being in the helicopter going to the hospital.”wrote the Barcelos pilot.

Quim Rodrigues Jr. also thanked Sebastian Bühler and Joan Barreda, his Hero teammates, as well as Maciek Giemza and Stefan Svitko, all the drivers who stopped to help him.
