More than two hundred people have been prevented from entering sports venues since the beginning of 2022 due to misconduct, the Authority for the Prevention and Combat of Violence in Sports (APCVD) revealed on Wednesday.
“Since January 1, 2022, the APCVD has issued 544 convictions and 230 measures prohibiting access to sports venues have come into force. According to figures from the National Sports Information Point, managed by the PSP, they are currently prohibited from entering sports venues. .around 250 sympathizers, 180 of which by decision of the APCVD”, reads a note released by the organization.
In the third quarter of the year alone, between July and September, the APCVD initiated another 368 infringement files and 68 measures to ban sports venues came into force, “among which are the three fans identified in relation to the Estoril incidents -FC Porto, from the seventh day of the I Football League”.
“Most of the banned fans were identified by police forces for using fireworks at sporting events and are linked to organized groups, that is, cheerleaders,” the organization explained.
