Two-time national champion Benfica was beaten this Wednesday by FC Barcelona, European runner-up in 2021/22, by 9-0, in their debut in Group D of the Women’s Champions League.
At the Johan Cruyff Stadium, Patri Guijarro (first minute), Aitana Bonmatí (14), Asisat Oshoala (34 and 84), Mariona Caldentey (50), Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic (65), Geyse (67 and 88) and Cláudia Pina (77) materialized the result.
In Group D, the Catalans lead, with the same three points as the German Bayern Munich -the ‘incarnate’s’ next rival, on October 27, in Seixal-, who beat Sweden’s Rosengard 2-1 at home.
