Fulham, led by the Portuguese Marco Silva and with the Portuguese international Palhinha in the eleven, beat Aston Villa on Thursday, in matchday 12 of the English Football League, while Leicester beat Leeds 2-0.
Marco Silva’s team prevailed at the break, with a goal from midfielder Harrison Reed, in the 36th minute, but consolidated the leadership in the second half, in 62 and 83, from Serbian striker Alexander Mitrovic and thanks to an own goal gate of Aston Villa central defender Tyrone Mings.
It should be noted that the Brazilian midfielder of the Birmingham team Douglas Luiz was sent off at the age of 62, after an altercation involving several players.
Portuguese international Palhinha was one of Fulham’s defensive midfielders and played the full 90 minutes.
In the other game, Leicester received and beat Leeds United 2-0, which allowed them to abandon the last place in the Premier League, in exchange for Nottingham Forest.
Both goals were scored in the first half, the first an own goal by Leeds’ German central defender Robin Koch, in the 16th minute, and the second by midfielder Harvey Barnes, in the 35th minute.
With these results, Fulham rises to ninth place, with 15 points (11 games), followed by Leeds United in 16, with nine (eight), Aston Villa in 17, with nine points (11), and penultimate Leicester, in 19th, with eight (11).
